Our Hybrid Pumped-Storage Hydro system combines a smaller scale of proven Pumped-Storage Hydro (PSH) with proven and cost-effective energy generation methods to provide increased grid flexibility and reliability which is required for the increased use of intermittent renewable energy sources. Using our patented hydro pressurization chambers, we have invented a way to efficiently combine the mechanical forces created by pumped-storage hydro with those created by modern combustion engines. Our chambers can use environmentally friendly fuels to provide long-duration, economical grid-scale energy storage and electrical generation with minimal or no carbon emissions.  The Hybrid Pumped-Storage Hydro system allows for a much smaller pumped-storage hydro facility to be efficiently scaled-up to generate the energy production of a much larger PSH facility in times of high electrical energy demand.
